Beginner in Polymer Clay?

I have been using my regular oven for about 2 years. I have a toaster oven but i put stuff in there once and my pieces just fell apart, or got burnt. I use a round pie pan line with wax paper. I've heard of people using clear nail polish, but i'm pretty sure someone said that over time it's not good, and might do something to the clay....not sure. I bake my clay @ 250 degrees for about 8 to 10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the clay. The directions are on the packaging. and if you make something one day, of course you can bake it the next day, but if you leave it out in the open some dust or cat hair ^_^ might float onto it, and that's a pain in the butt! Oh and also, I use sculpey gloss glaze and the donna dewberry sculpey satin glaze, they are both pretty good.
