Is the ps3 60gb(the big *** one) hard drive compatible with the new ps3 slim?

I have the old toaster oven,aka the ps3 60gb,and the laser just broke inside.I really don't want to send it in to get it fixed.But I'm afraid if I get the new slim,I won't be able to transfer my old data to the new one.
