Privacy tents and boxes for Litter boxes?

Im asking for a neighbor, as I dont use them with my multi-cat house. They have a 3600 sft home most on one level. They have toddlers and young kids that will close doors, and they have to keep there lower level door closed so no one falls down the stairs. Now they have a box down there that is in a room with a kitty door. NO problems there, however they want to put one upstairs and they dont want a litterbox out for everyone to see or the kids to get into. So they want to use one of these privacy tents or boxes to hide the box more. They just want to know if it works at all? did you cat like them or were they afraid of them. They are getting a new kitten tomorrow.
