Why did it take 10 years, trillions of dollars, and thousands of lives to kill Osama Bin Laden?

It shouldn't have, Bush blew it and focused on Iraq instead, which had nothing to do with 9/11. If he kept the focus on Bin Laden he would have been found years ago.
